Licensing Policy

The journal offers the option for authors to license their work under a Creative Commons (CC) license, including options like CC BY (which allows others to distribute, remix, and build upon the work) or other CC licenses depending on the author's preference. Details of the licensing options will be outlined during manuscript submission.

Open Access Policy

The Journal of Mechanical Engineering Research and Technology follows an Open Access model, making all published content freely available to the public. Authors who publish in this journal will have their articles accessible without subscription or paywall restrictions, in accordance with the principles of open science and to foster wider dissemination of research.

Plagiarism Policy

The journal adheres to a strict anti-plagiarism policy. Manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using software such as Turnitin or iThenticate. Any instance of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, will lead to immediate rejection of the manuscript, and the author may be banned from future submissions. Authors must ensure that all sources are appropriately cited.

Rights and Grants to the Author

The author retains the right to use, distribute, and share the published work after acceptance, including for teaching or institutional purposes. However, the author grants the journal the non-exclusive right to publish and distribute the article. The rights and grants are detailed in the Author’s Agreement Form.

APC Waiver Policy

The journal charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) for open-access publication. However, the journal provides waivers or discounts for authors from low-income countries or authors facing financial hardship. Waiver applications must be made prior to submission and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Authors retain copyright of their work, unless otherwise stated, and grant the journal a license to publish, distribute, and make the content available under the terms agreed upon during submission. The journal supports open access under Creative Commons licenses where applicable. Authors may reuse and distribute their work according to the licensing terms specified during publication.

Withdrawal Policy

Once a manuscript has been submitted, authors may withdraw their manuscript only under exceptional circumstances (e.g., discovery of a significant error or ethical concern). The author must formally notify the editorial office of their intent to withdraw, and no fees will be refunded after withdrawal if the article has progressed to the production phase.

Human and Animal Rights Policy

Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with national and international ethical guidelines. Authors must provide proof of ethical approval from an institutional review board (IRB) or an equivalent ethics committee. The journal adheres to the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki (for human studies) and the guidelines provided by relevant ethical bodies for animal research.

Errata, Retractions, and Corrigenda Policy

The journal aims to maintain the integrity of the scientific record. Any significant errors in published articles that affect the scientific validity of the work will be corrected through errata or corrigenda. If an article contains serious ethical issues or fabricated data, a retraction will be issued. The procedure for retraction or correction is outlined in the journal’s policy on ethical publishing practices.

Digital Preservation

The journal is committed to the long-term preservation of published content. All articles are archived in collaboration with reputable digital repositories and services like Portico or CLOCKSS to ensure content remains accessible in perpetuity.

All research involving human participants or patients must have appropriate ethical approval and informed consent. Authors must explicitly state in their manuscript that all necessary consent has been obtained, and privacy measures are in place according to institutional and ethical standards.

Data Sharing Policy

The journal encourages authors to share their research data publicly to promote transparency and reproducibility. Authors are encouraged to deposit raw data in recognized public repositories, and links to datasets must be provided in the article. Specific requirements for data sharing will be outlined during the manuscript submission process.

Submission of Manuscript

Manuscripts should be submitted electronically through the journal's submission system. Authors must follow the journal’s specific formatting requirements and provide all necessary documentation, including conflict-of-interest declarations and ethical approval certificates, where applicable.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the Manuscript Preparation Guidelines available on the journal's website. This includes formatting, referencing style, and presentation of tables, figures, and equations. Detailed instructions will be provided for each type of article (original research, review, short communication, etc.).

Check List

Before submitting their manuscript, authors should complete the Submission Checklist, ensuring they have included all required documents (cover letter, ethical approval statements, conflict-of-interest declarations, etc.), and have followed the manuscript preparation guidelines.

Sample Paper

A sample manuscript, illustrating the correct format, style, and structure, is available for download from the journal’s website. Authors are strongly encouraged to refer to the sample paper to ensure their manuscript meets the journal's formatting and style standards.

Complaints Policy

The journal has a formal process for handling complaints. Authors, reviewers, or readers who have concerns about ethical practices, editorial decisions, or any other issues related to the journal’s operations can submit a formal complaint to the editorial board. The complaints will be reviewed and addressed in accordance with the journal’s ethical guidelines

Article Processing Charge (APC)

An APC is required for all accepted articles published in the open-access model. The amount will be communicated to authors during the submission process. Discounts or waivers may be available for authors from developing countries or those experiencing financial constraints.

Author’s Agreement Form

Upon submission, authors are required to sign the Author’s Agreement Form, which outlines the terms of publication, including copyright transfer (or licensing), ethical considerations, and the responsibilities of authors. This form ensures that the rights and obligations of both authors and the journal are clearly defined.

English Language Editing

The journal requires that manuscripts be written in clear, concise English. Authors who are non-native English speakers are encouraged to use professional language editing services to ensure their work meets the journal’s language standards. The journal may also provide language editing services at an additional cost.
