Abstract

Infants are highly sensitive to variations in environmental temperature and require continuous monitoring to maintain a safe and comfortable thermal environment. Conventional baby monitoring methods largely depend on manual supervision, which may not provide continuous monitoring or immediate response to abnormal conditions The proposed system employs a temperature sensor interfaced with an ESP32/ESP8266 microcontroller to continuously acquire ambient temperature data. The measured parameters are processed and transmitted through Wi-Fi to an IoT platform, where they can be monitored remotely using a web or mobile-based interface. A predefined temperature range is established, and the system automatically controls a cooling fan or heating element whenever the measured temperature exceeds or falls below the specified limits. In addition, the system can generate real-time alerts to notify caregivers about abnormal temperature conditions. To provide comprehensive infant monitoring, the proposed framework can be extended with diaper wetness detection, baby cry detection with automatic cradle swinging, and live video surveillance using an ESP32-CAM. The collected sensor data can be stored and visualized through the IoT platform, enabling continuous observation and analysis of environmental conditions. monitoring compared with conventional manual methods.
