Solar energy is one of the most promising and widely available renewable energy sources for sustainable power generation; however, its efficient utilization and management remain challenging due to its intermittent nature and dependence on environmental factors such as solar irradiance, temperature, and weather conditions. Conventional power systems rely heavily on grid electricity generated from fossil fuels, leading to increased electricity costs, energy shortages, and environmental pollution. To address these issues, this project presents a Smart Solar Energy Optimization System designed to provide a reliable, efficient, and sustainable power solution for classroom applications. The system uses photovoltaic (PV) solar panels to convert sunlight into electrical energy in the form of direct current (DC), which is then stored in a battery storage system to ensure availability during non-sunlight hours. An inverter is employed to convert the stored DC power into alternating current (AC), making it suitable for operating classroom loads such as lights, fans, and other basic electrical devices. The system is designed to optimize energy utilization by effectively balancing power generation, storage, and consumption, where during daytime solar energy is directly used to power loads while simultaneously charging the battery, and during nighttime or low sunlight conditions, the stored energy is used to maintain uninterrupted power supply. The implemented system demonstrates the capability to support multiple loads efficiently while operating within safe limits, thereby reducing dependency on conventional grid electricity and minimizing energy wastage. In addition, the system contributes to environmental sustainability by reducing carbon emissions and promoting the use of clean energy. The primary objective of this project is to develop a cost-effective, reliable, and eco-friendly solution suitable for educational institutions, especially in rural and semi-urban areas where power supply is often unstable. The system is simple in design, easy to install, requires minimal maintenance, and can be expanded in the future by adding more panels or storage capacity. Overall, this project highlights the practical application of renewable energy systems, improves energy efficiency, enhances energy independence, and encourages the adoption of sustainable technologies for long-term benefits.
