Abstract

The growing use of solar energy systems has led to a need for better methods to maintain their performance. A major problem with solar panels is the accumulation of dust and dirt on their surfaces, which reduces their efficiency in generating energy. To address this issue, a low-power and smart solar panel cleaning system has been proposed to clean solar panels automatically. This reduces the need for manual cleaning. The system consists of several components, including an ESP32 microcontroller, DC gear motor, motor driver, water pump, cleaning brush, wiper, and limit switches. These components work together to clean the solar panels effectively. The motor moves the cleaning mechanism across the panel surface, while water is sprayed to help remove stubborn dust and dirt. The system uses solar power with a battery backup, making it energy-efficient and self-sufficient. The system operates according to a predefined schedule or timer, allowing regular cleaning without human intervention. Embedded control makes the system reliable, easy to maintain, and efficient. The limit switches prevent the cleaning mechanism from moving beyond its required range, thereby improving system safety. This solution provides a reliable and adjustable method for maintaining solar panel performance. It is suitable for homes, commercial buildings, and remote locations where manual cleaning may be difficult or impractical. The system can help maintain energy production, reduce maintenance
