Study On Behavior And Breakup Process Of Oil Jet Ejected From Curved Pipe
Keywords:
nozzle tip, droplet countAbstract
The study focuses on the behavior of the oil jet that is ejected from a 90-degree bend pipe and the flow distribution
within the pipe for jet Reynolds numbers Re (Re = Wmd/v, where Wm is the mean velocity of the oil jet, d is the
nozzle diameter, and ν is the kinematic viscosity) ranging from 1500 to 3000. The oil jet is observed at 20,000
frames per second from four side viewpoints using the high-speed camera. It is discovered that a greater Re causes
the oil jet contact to have a broader position and a bigger standard deviation. As Re increases, the jet interface
starts to vary at the nozzle tip. Above Re=2500, droplets are produced from the jet interface and ligaments, and
as Re grows, so does the droplet count. About half of the droplets are produced, with the majority of the 300μmdiameter
droplets found on the inner side.
